Jenny Quinton 

Jenny arrived in Hong Kong in 1989 and quickly fell in love with the wild beauty of Lantau Island—a connection that has shaped her life’s work ever since. After a fire sparked by a grave-sweeping festival nearly destroyed her home, she became deeply involved in environmental activism, joining numerous community action groups and helping to plant nearly 38,000 native trees to date.

In 1991, Jenny established the first English-language kindergarten in Mui Wo, before going on to teach with the English Schools Foundation (ESF), where she helped develop school-wide environmental systems and processes. In 2006, she founded Ark Eden—a registered charity and eco-education permaculture community that offers immersive outdoor learning experiences and ecosystem restoration projects for people of all ages.

Jenny later served as ESF’s Environmental Consultant for ten years, leading inter-school sustainability conferences, events, and initiatives that fostered climate consciousness across Hong Kong’s education sector.

​

A lifelong educator and learner, Jenny has completed three Permaculture Design Certificates, Forest School Level 3 Training, a Diploma in Experiential Education, Play for Peace certification, Yoga Teacher Training, and Conscious Dance Facilitator Training. Her passion lies in creating meaningful, nature-connected experiences that inspire action and healing.

Jenny continues to devote her life to protecting Lantau and the planet—nurturing a love for nature in others while helping to restore the landscapes she calls home.

Alex Stewart-Long

Alex is a registered architect and certified Passive House designer with over 12 years of experience in the construction industry. Her work has taken her across the globe—including the UK, Australia, Bulgaria, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan—where she has designed sustainable buildings, taught architecture at university level, and engaged in heritage research focused on preserving the past through sustainable practices.

Her core passion lies in creating healthier, greener spaces for people to live, blending technical knowledge with an eye for thoughtful, low-impact design.

​

Beyond architecture, Alex is a passionate artist and lifelong maker. Growing up in the south of England, she spent her childhood repurposing materials and helping her father with DIY projects—an early influence that shaped her belief in reusing rather than discarding.

​

A keen backpacker, Alex fell in love with Asia during her travels. After completing her architecture degree and master’s in the UK, she moved first to China, then to Hong Kong, where she continued her architectural career. She now lives in the unique village of Wang Tong, Lantau, and is dedicated to helping preserve its natural beauty and biodiversity.

​

Through Bisque-Kit, Alex hopes to share her love of making, building, and the natural world—offering people opportunities to learn new skills, get creative, and reconnect with nature.

Ania Chorzepa

Ania Chorzepa is an architectural designer, builder, researcher, and educator with a deep focus on natural materials—particularly earth and fibre. Originally from Poland, she began her architectural career in England, where she studied and worked in architectural design. Driven by a strong desire to align her work with ecological values, she further trained in natural building techniques, focusing on sustainable, earth-based construction.

​

To deepen her expertise, Ania relocated to Austria to study at BASEhabitat, a centre for natural building, where she gained both practical and technical experience. There, she explored collaborative design with communities and developed an interest in socially driven architecture and entrepreneurship.

Ania has continued to expand her practice through hands-on work with renowned earth architect Anna Heringer, as well as through building alongside experienced clay craftspeople and regularly participating in natural building workshops across Europe.

Now based in Germany and balancing her work with motherhood, Ania’s practice centers on regenerative material research, creative site-specific exploration, and building with earth and fibre. She is passionate about the collaborative spirit of natural building, enjoys writing, and thrives on meaningful connections with people and the natural world. Her happiest moments are often spent outdoors, surrounded by lush greenery.
