Alexandra Mercedes is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, maker, and architect based in Hong Kong, originally from the UK. Working under the name drawn from her first and middle names, Alexandra blends creative intuition with a professional design background to offer an elegant, thoughtful approach to art and design.

For years, she went by "Alex," but embracing "Alexandra" and the name "Mercedes"—one of her middle names—has become part of her artistic identity. Mercedes was gifted by her father, a quiet homage to his lifelong love of cars. It’s a name she now carries with affection, woven into the creative path she has carved for herself.

Alexandra’s practice spans painting, illustration, printmaking, embroidery, and mixed media. Her work is deeply inspired by the vivid contrasts of life in Hong Kong—from the bustling urban fabric to the lush jungle landscapes surrounding her Mui Wo home. Her style finds beauty in quiet observation and celebrates the quirky, the organic, and the poetic.
